R_video automatically collects cover art and information about your movies and TV shows. This data is presented in a feature-rich interface that is accessible in any room with an R_volution media player. The R_video screen interface displays smooth animations at 60 frames per second for impressive visual impact.

Movies can resume immediately or play from the beginning, without warnings, advertisements or disc menus.

Note on the RIP function of the R_volution NAS

The RIP function of the R_volution NAS works perfectly for 95% of all discs. However, some discs cannot be played, analyzed or ripped for various reasons.

Faster backup with an additional drive available as an accessory

The backup time varies depending on the type of disc:

• DVD : approx. 20 minutes
• Blu-ray disc : approx. 30 minutes
• 4K UHD disc : approx. 45 minutes

Actual duration may vary slightly depending on the length of the title.

Note : When ripping and playing videos at the same time, we recommend not starting video playback during ripping to ensure optimal performance.

Easy storage upgrade and security with R_Volution NAS

If your total storage is not enough, you can easily expand it. The R_volution NAS is scalable and offers personal premium support to install additional drives and set up the storage system in RAID 5.

The R_volution NAS features hardware RAID to prevent data loss and improve performance. Hardware RAID gives you advanced features like hot swap in case of drive failure.

RAID 5 uses block-level striping with distributed parity. If a drive fails, data can be calculated using parity so no data is lost. RAID 5 requires a minimum of three drives.

R_Volution NAS developed and optimized for yachts - enjoy movies in incredible picture quality anywhere without an internet connection

With the R_volution NAS you can enjoy your movies comfortably on your yacht, even without an internet connection. All the main R_video functions are at your disposal, with the exception of internet-based operations such as downloading movie trailers, subtitles or analyzing new content.

Offline mode for yachts and other environments

To add new video content, simply wait until you have an internet connection in port to download all the movie details. R_video can then pull in the movie cover, cast, crew, genre and more information. Once the data is downloaded, you can enjoy your new movies when your ship sets sail again.

R_video also works in private planes, taxis, trains, shuttles and other environments with limited or no internet connection. When equipped with Starlink, the app automatically switches to online mode to download cover art and subtitles and play trailers, even at sea. An offline mode with a locking system is planned for hotels.

Plug-and-play installation and easy access

• Easy configuration : Connect the R_volution NAS to a power outlet and your local network and it will be automatically recognized by any R_volution media player on the network.
• User-friendly access : Access the NAS from any connected computer. Copy and manage your content easily using the R_volution media player's remote control.

Uncompressed video backup

• Auto Ripping : Insert a DVD, Blu-ray or 4K UHD disc. The NAS will back up the movie and eject the disc automatically, without compression.
• Expansion : Rip multiple discs simultaneously with optional external drive connected via USB.
• Folder structure : Automatically create “MOVIES” and “TV SHOWS” folders for easy access to your videos.
• Identification : R_video automatically retrieves cover art, background images, synopsis and technical information.
• Categorization : Movies and TV shows are automatically indexed and assigned to categories. Use filters and sorting functions for quick access.
• Edit and delete : Edit information and images or delete content directly using the remote control.
• Direct Access : Access 4K UHD or Blu-ray content without alerts or trailers. Use the remote to jump directly to specific movie sections.

Note: DVD menus are currently not supported on R_volution media players with Amlogic chipset.

Add personal music files

Add your personal or downloaded music files and organize them as you like. Supported audio formats include WAV, AIFF, ALAC, FLAC, MP3, OGG, AC3, DTS, MPEG, AAC, LPCM, APE, M4A, VSELP and Ogg/Vorbis.

Custom album covers

Edit or add custom images. For example, you can scan the background cover from the CD case or use another photo of the artist. For better compatibility and faster display, we recommend a square aspect ratio with a resolution of up to 500 x 500. Images used as thumbnails for artists and albums must be named "folder.jpg". Additional images can be named differently.

music slideshow function

During live concerts, you can view a music slideshow. Put the concert photos into the album folder and click on the first picture. A musical slideshow with dynamic camera and fade effects will appear on your TV. To change the audio track during the slideshow, use the PAGE + / PAGE- buttons on the R_volution player remote control.

Connected speakers and audio players

Audio files are generated in multiple formats. Standardized album art and thumbnails ensure compatibility with most audio players and connected speakers such as Sonos. Music files are accessible in multiple rooms and can be controlled with a tablet or smartphone via dedicated apps for connected devices, such as the Sonos app. Also play your audio files with your favorite audio software on a connected computer.

ROON server integration

The R_volution NAS offers optional integration with the ROON server, one of the most popular applications for audiophiles. ROON collects and identifies all local music files and music services in HD streaming. With the highly secure RAID storage system of the R_volution NAS, you can store all your music files gapless and make them directly accessible via the ROON server.
