The lens of the Sony VPL-XW7000ES is characterized by high quality and proven standards. It uses the special Advanced Crisp Focus lens (ACF), a significant improvement compared to the previous model Sony VPL-VW790ES.
The use of glass elements in the lens results in extremely low light dispersion, and the floating focus unit is particularly noteworthy. While conventional lenses usually only move one lens group to focus, the VPL-XW7000 uses two moving lens groups with its ACF lens.
This enables superior image quality by avoiding image curvature and other optical impairments. Even when zooming, the image remains stable and has excellent edge sharpness.
The front element of the lens is aspherical and has a diameter of 70mm, surrounded by 12 glass lenses with extremely low dispersion, which together provide an excellent color result without significant color deviations. These features ensure that the VPL-XW7000 delivers an outstandingly sharp image, making it a quality feature of Sony's projectors.
